Increasingly insurers are turning to solutions that can assist them in making better decisions. Predictive analytics is a key enabler in this regard as it not only allows insurers to better understand the past, but also provides valuable inputs for insurers to better anticipate the future.
As part of Faculty of Math's 50th anniversary celebration at the University of Waterloo, this conference aims to bring leading academic researchers and practitioners together to share recent advances in predictive analytics with applications in insurance and risk management, as well as experiences and best practices on a wide range of topics around this theme in the insurance industry.
To be considered for making a presentation at this conference, you are invited to submit an extended abstract to local organizing committee members via email with the subject line “APA2017 Abstract Submission”. The email address is apa@uwaterloo.ca. Selected papers presented at the conference will be considered for publication in a special issue of the North American Actuarial Journal subject to the normal refereeing process.
In addition to 4 invited academic presentations and over 20 contributed presentations, the conference is also featuring two practitioners’ panel discussions, one case study, as well as speeches by Sharon Giffen (President of CIA) and Jerry Brown (Past President of SOA).
Any inquiry should be sent to apa@uwaterloo.ca.
