Research

The Audio Research Group at the University of Waterloo does research in audio, electroacoustics and acoustics. It is associated with the Guelph-Waterloo Physics Institute. Adjunct faculty member John Vanderkooy of Physics is willing to supervise mainly undergraduates and Masters studies. The group does not normally accept postdoctoral students, internships or students that do not apply through the normal channels. We welcome any students or university members for consultation on matters relating to our topics. The research is focused on topics in Physics, and not on recording technology, multimedia, psychology or music aspects. Research into loudspeakers or musical instruments are possible topics, but not their development. Prospective students will need a background in mathematics and physics.
