Atmospheric Science

I am the Mission Scientist for the Atmospheric Chemistry Experiment (ACE), a satellite project funded by the Canadian Space Agency. The primary goal of ACE is to improve human understanding of arctic and midlatitude ozone loss in the stratosphere. On August 12, 2003, a high-resolution FTS (Fourier Transform Spectrometer) was launched by NASA into low earth orbit.

As well, there is a new ground-based atmospheric observatory at the University of Waterloo, called the Waterloo Atmospheric Observatory (WAO) based on two novel ACE-like Fourier transform spectrometers.
