Learning Disabilities (LD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are relatively common, frequently comorbid, and highly persistent Neurodevelopmental Disorders that present a variety of clinical challenges. In this workshop, Dr. Phillips and McAuley will share their expertise in implementing best practices in evidence-based, lifespan-focused assessment and psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults with LD and ADHD. Attendees are expected to have basic knowledge and skills in psychotherapy. Attendees will earn 6.0 CPA-approved CE credits.
Workshop attendees will learn to:
- Utilize the new OPA consensus guidelines for best practice to assess and diagnose LD across all sectors of psychology and all ages and populations
- Understand how to navigate the complexities of assessing and diagnosing ADHD
- Develop an evidence-informed approach to case formulation of mental health issues in Neurodevelopmental Disorders across the lifespan
- Tailor individual and group therapy transdiagnostically to accommodate the processing challenges associated with Neurodevelopmental Disorders such as LD and ADHD
