Periodic table of Rice Krispies squares

I made a couple of pans of Rice Krispies treats, cut them up into squares and created a tasty Mole Day treat for the University of Waterloo Chemistry Department — even Mole Day grinches loved these goodies. Professors, students and staff all carefully selected an element to eat. Selecting one’s favourite element generated lots of fun discussion. Try it with your students — and maybe even the other teachers at your school.

The table was placed on two aluminum pans taped together. It was much easier than cupcakes. This year I am planning a shortcut — using graham cracker squares or square cookies.
