Thursday, July 13, 2023

CoLab Director Katie Plaisance presented new data from the project, Engaging Science with Philosophy at the International Society for the History, Philosophy, and Social Studies of Biology conference in Toronto, Ontario. The talk, “What Makes Collaborations Between Philosophers and Scientists Work? Perspectives from Scientists and Engineers” presented preliminary findings from interviews with 20 scientists and engineers about their collaborations with philosophers of science. The presentation addressed the ways collaborations were initiated, the factors that helped facilitate collaborations, and how participants dealt with the demands of interdisciplinary research.
