We’re proud to feature the newest episode of Community Curling presented by Goldline, which showcases the impactful work of one of our PhD students Laura Leitch. Laura is a valued member of our research group and a leader in growing accessible curling opportunities at the Ilderton Curling Club.
This episode spotlights Ilderton’s wheelchair curling program, a community initiative that has flourished under Laura’s commitment to inclusion, athlete support, and grassroots program development. Through conversations with curlers Tony Reynen, Paul Allen, Paul Grose, and with Laura herself, viewers gain insight into how the program has grown into a welcoming and empowering space for athletes of all abilities.
The feature also includes reflections from three-time Paralympic medalist Mark Ideson, who shares how Ilderton inspired his introduction to curling and why he continues to return to support Laura’s work and mentor athletes in the program today.
