This May, Dr. Katie Misener led University of Waterloo students on an International Sport Business Study Abroad course in London, UK. The experiential learning opportunity gave students firsthand exposure to the global sport industry through visits to leading sport organizations, universities, and iconic venues.
Throughout the trip, students explored topics such as sport governance, leadership, sustainability, fan engagement, and community impact while learning from industry professionals and academic experts. They also attended professional sporting events, providing valuable opportunities to connect classroom concepts with real-world practice.
The course reflects Waterloo’s commitment to experiential learning and global engagement, helping students develop the knowledge, curiosity, and critical thinking skills needed to become future leaders in sport and beyond.
