Sarah Dunbar awarded SSHRC scholarship for safe sport research

MA student Sarah Dunbar received a SSHRC Canada Graduate Scholarship along with the University of Waterloo President’s Graduate Scholarship to support her thesis examining how community sport organizations prevent and address maltreatment in sport. Her research identifies effective safeguarding practices within community clubs and highlights opportunities to strengthen organizational capacity, policy implementation, and athlete-protection efforts. Through this work, Sarah aims to contribute evidence-based insights that help create safer, more supportive sport environments for all participants.
