This was a busy winter term for the AquaGHG Lab as they presented a total of 11 posters at four meetings, including at the annual meeting for the Society of Canadian Aquatic Sciences (SCAS) in Hamilton, ON in February. Tonya gave conference talks at SCAS and ASLO. She also attended a partners meeting in Montreal with her UQAM collaborators and the four provincial hydropower utilities on the NSERC Alliance Missions grant that aims to constrain the carbon footprint of Canadian reservoirs.
The lab conducted winter sampling during the January polar vortex and then spring sampling in a very cold April. Now it is time for another year of sampling in the restored wetlands and a final summer of sampling reservoirs with new ones in northern Ontario and Manitoba. Stay tuned for more interesting highlights from the busy field season to come!!
