Welcome to the Employee Engagement Survey

Thank you to all who participated in the 2023 Employee Engagement Survey.  

The survey closed on December 8, 2023, achieving a higher response rate of 55% than our 2019 rate. We sincerely appreciate the time and thought you put into these survey responses.  

As we progress towards Waterloo at 100, this valuable feedback from the survey provides us with a more in-depth understanding of your perceptions about working at Waterloo, furnishing us with comprehensive insights into your perspectives on employee performance, our work environment, work processes, and the direction of the University.

Next steps

As we process and prepare the results provided by our survey partner, Korn Ferry, we have begun sharing the full results and the themes with University leadership and will be following this by sharing the overall themes and highlights with the campus community, and then sharing department-specific information with faculties and academic support units.

The results of the 2023 survey will be the basis for many meaningful, ongoing discussions on the employee experience on our journey to 2057 and further our role as an employer that attracts outstanding talent. The results will be used to create both departmental and institutional action plans.


After a senior leadership review, institutional results will be shared here. Community engagement events and specific unit and faculty engagement will follow.

 
Survey Partner: Korn Ferry

Our survey partner, Korn Ferry, worked with the University to both distribute the survey and collect results. Korn Ferry is a recognized expert in this field. By using a third party, we can ensure confidentiality, no individual responses have been shared with representatives from Waterloo.
