QNC Bird-Friendly Decal Project

A Sustainability Action Fund initiative, EHN is working with Plant Ops, Bird Friendly Kitchener, and the UW Chapter of the Society for Ecological Restoration to install bird-safe decals on the windows of the Quantum-Nano Centreacross from the Peter Russel Rock Garden. Approximately 3 billion birds die per year from window glass collisions, which can be prevented by the exterior application of decals. This initiative is part of creating a bird-friendlier campus, and builds on collision monitoring data collected by Waterloo students.
