Isabel Urrutia

Isabel is a Master of Environmental Studies Candidate in the department of Environment and Resource Studies (ERS) at the University of Waterloo. Her thesis research project studies household food waste in Canada, and aims to relate socio-economic factors and behaviours to amounts of food discarded from households in Kitchener-Waterloo.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in mathematics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and a Master of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo. Prior to returning to graduate school she worked as a research analyst at Sustainable Waterloo Region, and continues to volunteer at Bailey's Local Foods.
