Jenelle Regnier-Davies

From restaurant cooking, to gardening, organic butchery and teaching cooking classes, Jenelle holds over thirteen years of experience in the food industry. In her recent search for more meaningful engagement with food, Jenelle completed an Undergraduate Degree in the Faculty of Environmental Studies at York University, where she specialized in Environmental Politics and received a minor in Geography.

More currently, Jenelle is working on her MA in Geography at University of Waterloo. Though she is interested in a wide spectrum of food issues, Jenelle is most passionate about food justice, food education and citizenship in urban regions. She is currently working on her Master´s thesis, examining the experience of Chinese Immigrants in Canada, and their relation to food systems in comparison to their experiences in China.

Jenelle is also currently working in the development and facilitation of community-based programming at the Centre for Immigrant and Community Service (CICS) in Scarborough Ontario. In addition, she organizes and edits the bi-annual newsletters for the Canadian Association for Food Studies, and is heavily involved in the ongoing food justice campaigns of Food Forward, a food advocacy group located in Toronto, Ontario.
