WHAT IS FUSION?
The Fusion Conference, operating since 2004, is a conference hosted at the University of Waterloo that merges knowledge from science, business, and technology fields through a unique theme each year. The conference is organized by students from the Science and Business program, but undergraduate students and high school students are welcome and encouraged to attend. The Fusion Conference prepares delegates for leadership roles by equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills in our rapidly changing world.

EVENT BREAKDOWN
The conference is an innovative and collaborative event that consists of speeches by industry leaders, interactive networking sessions with professionals from various industries, and a case competition where delegates can obtain skills that they can apply to workplace settings.
Delegates will have the opportunity to hear various presentations from industry leaders. The aim of the presentations is to interactively educate the delegates on the theme; both experts and beginners will find it valuable to hear from the influential speakers at the conference.
The networking session provides delegates with the chance to network with professionals in various industries and build connections with like-minded individuals.
The case competition is a team activity where delegates prepare a creative solution to the given case relating to this year’s theme. Delegates will be presented a case study during the Fusion Bootcamp and have 5 days to prepare a solution in a team of 4-5 members. The presentation will be presented on the day of the Fusion Conference to a panel of judges. The top 3 teams for each category will then be chosen and will receive cash prizes for their outstanding efforts.

FUSION 2024 BOOTCAMP
The Fusion Bootcamp will act as a kick-off event for the Fusion Conference case competition. Students who take part in the Bootcamp have the chance to hear from a guest speakers, as well as participate in workshops that will assist them in their Fusion Conference experience. Students will also be given a work session towards the end of the event to allow them to work with their teams while receiving ongoing support from our industry and student mentors.
