Jonathan is a Master of Public Health Sciences student with a background in both biology and public health. He is currently being supervised by Dr. Helen Chen. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from McMaster University and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Public Health from Toronto Metropolitan University. His interdisciplinary training has shaped his interest in applying computational and data-driven approaches to complex public health challenges.

He has previously worked with Peel Region through the Vector-Borne Disease Program and the City of Toronto, where he gained experience supporting public health initiatives and data-informed decision-making.

His research interests focus on the application and evaluation of large language models and generative AI systems in healthcare and public health contexts.

Outside of his academic work, Jonathan enjoys playing basketball and spending time learning new programming and coding techniques.

Research Interests:

  • LLM-based analysis of large-scale Reddit data for public-health signals and emotional trends

  • Clinical conversational AI for Parkinson’s disease using acoustic and linguistic biomarkers

  • Evaluation of generative AI and agentic systems for reliable, interpretable healthcare integration
