Salman Shaik is an MMath student under the supervision of Dr. Helen Chen. He holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of New Brunswick with a minor in Mathematics. His honours thesis focused on generative AI for medical imaging in data-scarce domains, where he developed a novel approach for generating high-quality synthetic images under extreme data scarcity.
He is curious about the mathematical foundations of artificial intelligence and is interested in applying generative AI and natural language processing to address challenges in the healthcare domain.
Outside of his academic work, Salman enjoys playing tennis and has competed for the University of New Brunswick.
