AGEING AND SPIRITUALITY CONFERENCE GOES ONLINE

From the other side of the world, to our own back yard, specialists in aging and spirituality are preparing to gather online in June 8-23 for seven 90-minute sessions spread over three weeks. Plenary speakers will address what we’ve learned about spirituality and older adults over the past decades, the value of oral tradition in song and story, preparing our spirits for dementia, and the role of faith communities. Paper presentations will introduce topics as wide-ranging as antiaging medicine and spiritual well-being, the meaning of ‘home’, spiritual needs of aged-care workers, pandemic disruptions, and the role of spirituality for older adults in Africa. Participants will listen to presentations and have the opportunity to engage in small group discussions, meeting others from as far as Japan and Australia who share their interests. Registration ($65) is open to anyone who is curious to learn! Check out our website and plan to join us.
