Health Imaging Consortium Event Series launches

Tuesday, April 21, 2026

On April 21, 2026, the inaugural Health Imaging Consortium – From Methods to Innovations to Building Connections, themed Imaging Across the Aging Trajectory was held. The collaboration between the Office of Research and Health Research Hub (HRH), t brought together faculty, staff, and students from across the University of Waterloo to showcase health-related imaging research while building  new interdisciplinary connections and strengthening existing ones.

The afternoon featured presentations spanning brain research, musculoskeletal health, and imaging methods and discovery, with speakers from Arts, Engineering, Health, and Science. Through presentations, discussion, and networking, the event highlighted the breadth of imaging research happening across campus and the value of bringing researchers together across disciplines to share ideas and explore collaboration.

As a new cross-campus initiative, the Health Research Hub aims to make health research easier to navigate by connecting people, expertise, and resources through one coordinated entry point. Co-hosting this inaugural event was an important early milestone for the Hub, reflecting its role in supporting collaboration and helping to grow a more connected health research community at Waterloo. The collaborative relationship between Health Research Hub and the Office of Research clearly demonstrated the value of synergistic partnerships, suggesting promising strategies to advance innovative and successful research outcomes.  The organizers are grateful to all speakers, moderators, and attendees who helped make the event a success, and we look forward to future HRH events.

Congratulations on the very successful Health Imaging Consortium! The event is an important step towards expanding and connecting the community of imaging researchers at UW. Let's work together to advance our institutional strategy and our major grant portfolio in biomedical imaging!
