Leadership roundtable -- This 16-person roundtable will contain membership from the private sector, government, community, and university including staff, faculty, and students. This intentionally diverse team will bring many unique and inclusive perspectives to the planning process. The team will meet monthly, gathering input for all the teams and driving engagement in our community. They will use what they learn to propose a 5-year Healthy Waterloo strategy.
Listening team -- We want to hear from, and engage with, as many people as possible from all walks of life. This is an opportunity to work with a team of individuals who will use their own personal contacts and spheres of influence to bring people together to talk about Healthy Waterloo. The results of these conversations will be forwarded to our Leadership Roundtable and used to discover what our community wants and needs to create Canada’s Healthiest community.
Learning team -- This team will build a learning agenda. These could be online or face to face learning events that will bring in voices from our own community or from around the world. We consider rapid learning as core to our action approach. There are no simple answers. It is only through our creativity and collaborative learning that we can find agreement and a common energy for change.
Action team(s) -- These are the teams that wants to get things done...now. We will be promoting projects that can be implemented quickly. As interest grows, we may consider various teams that would specifically leverage our schools, neighbourhoods or businesses as living labs to test new ideas to create a healthier community.
Communications team -- This team will actively build a compelling set of messages for our community to advance understanding of Healthy Waterloo and to promote engagement by the entire community of Waterloo Region. We may develop a regular e-magazine, website, social media campaigns or other creative approaches to communication.
