Volunteer
The lab simply could not run without dedicated volunteers and study participants. Volunteering as a participant is an excellent way to gain exposure to the lab environment and learn more about the field of research.
Volunteering as a research assistant is an excellent way to gain hands-on experience and develop a strong foundation for future biomechanics research. Volunteer research assistants partake in numerous aspects of research including:
- Working alongside skilled and knowledgeable graduate students
- Learning data collection techniques involving Electromyogram (EMG), motion capture (Optotrak), accelerometers, force plates, tether releases, velocimeters, high-speed video, and pressure plates
- Introduction to data processing techniques using LabVIEW and MATLAB
