Research Interests

Head Impact Biomechanics

  • Mechanisms of Traumatic Brain Injury: Investigating the underlying biomechanical processes associated with traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) across various impact scenarios, including falls, sports-related incidents, and other types of head trauma.
  • The Role of the Neck Region in Head Impact Biomechanics: Analyzing the influence of the cervical spine and associated structures in reducing the severity of head impacts. Emphasis is placed on the mechanical and structural properties of neck tissues and the effects of aging on these properties.
  • Protective Equipment and Injury Prevention: Evaluating the effect of protective equipment, specifically helmets, with a concentrated focus on their design and biomechanical performance.
