Research interests
My main research interest is in impact injury biomechanics. More specifically, I am interested in better understanding the underlying mechanics of injuries, such as impact related bone fractures and fall related head injuries. My previous research experience has included investigating the influence of muscle activation on the impact dynamics of lateral falls to the hip, as well as the development of a hierarchical model to predict population level hip fracture risk using probabilistic approaches. My current projects include investigating the influence of loading rate and impact orientation on femur fracture strength.
