From Highway 401
- Take exit 278 (from Toronto) or exit 278B (from London) to Highway 8 West Kitchener/Waterloo.
- Follow the signs for 85 North to Waterloo/7 East to Guelph.
- Follow the signs to 85 North. Keep left; do not exit on 7 East (Victoria Street and Guelph).
- Take the University Avenue West exit, turning right onto University Avenue West.
- University of Waterloo is at University Avenue and Seagram Drive.
From Pearson International Airport, Toronto
- Take Highway 427 South, exit at Highway 401 West.
- Follow directions from the 401.
From Niagara
- Follow the Queen Elizabeth Way in the "Toronto" direction to highway 403 West.
- Follow 403 West to highway 6 North.
- Follow 6 North to highway 401 West.
- Follow directions from the 401.
Getting to Waterloo by air, bus, train and taxi

- Airways Transit (available from Pearson Airport, Toronto)
- GO Transit
- Grand River Transit; routes 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, and 29, Late Night Loop and iXpress, reach the main campus. If you are taking the ION, use the University of Waterloo station
