The Libraries offers bookable study rooms at Dana Porter, Davis Centre and Musagetes Libraries for use by current University of Waterloo students, faculty and staff.
All study rooms must be booked online using a valid Waterloo Identity and Access Management (WatIAM) account.
Library users are expected to follow the guidelines below to ensure fair and equitable access. Library staff may require users to vacate rooms if guidelines are not followed.
Booking limits
- Study rooms can be booked up to one week in advance.
- Each booking can be up to three hours long.
- Users can have up to three active bookings per week.
No-show policy
- Bookings not claimed within 15 minutes of the start time will be considered a no-show and may be cancelled.
Walk-in use
- Walk-in use is permitted when study rooms are not reserved.
- After the 15-minute grace period, users may contact Library Help Desk staff to release unclaimed bookings.
- Walk-in users must leave the room when a scheduled booking begins.
Expectations of use
- Noise levels must not disrupt other library users.
- Room capacity limits and booking times must be observed.
- The person who booked the room is responsible for leaving it in good condition. The Libraries is not responsible for lost or unattended items.
- Posting unauthorized signage in study rooms is not permitted.
