The Library invites you to Imaginarium — a place devoted to inspiring and realizing new artistic, scientific and philosophic pursuits. This selection of three (from a series of ten) paintings aim at giving form to how items held as personal possessions act as sites of imagination, at once serving as containers for and acting as agents of that elusive notion we have of 'imagination'.

Inspired by the story of the pansy, and the pioneering works of Lady Mary Elizabeth Bennet and William Richardson.

A new piece of metal when exposed to the elements develops a patina over time, slowly transforming how it looks. Similarly, in my work I build up a patina to slowly transform the look of the piece, allowing us to imagine what lies beneath.
