The Library is continually adding to its collections to provide Waterloo scholars and researchers with the resources they need to meet their goals. With support from generous donors, we’re able to purchase new resources across a variety of subject areas and diverse voices, responding to direct requests from our users, usage statistics and emerging subjects of interest.
Some of our recent acquisitions include:
- Border and Migration Studies Online, provides historical context and resources for the growing fields of border(land) studies and migration studies, and includes text, video and images.
- Africa Commons (History & Culture and Black South African Magazines), is a project supporting the control, digitization and dissemination of African content to support a deeper understanding of Africa and its people, preserve at-risk content and ensure African scholars can easily find and access expressions of their heritage in Western collections. History & Culture offers a comprehensive place for searching and collecting African historical and cultural materials, with materials from 600 organizations. Black South African Magazines brings together extremely rare, yet historically significant magazines, written and targeted specifically for Black African audiences.
- DETAIL Inspiration Archive, supports architects and structural engineers by providing access to over 5,000 project documents across a 60-year time span.
- Policy Commons - Global Think Tanks, provides access to objective, fact-based research from the world’s leading policy experts, think tanks, IGOs and NGOs all in one place.
