Dr. Yuntian Deng is an Assistant Professor at the Cheriton School of Computer Science. He is also a Faculty Affiliate at the Vector Institute and an Associate at Harvard University SEAS.

Before joining UWaterloo, he obtained his PhD in Computer Science at Harvard University under the supervision of Alexander Rush and Stuart Shieber (2023) and spent one year at the Allen Institute for AI as a Young Investigator advised by Yejin Choi.

His research interests center on the intersection of natural language processing, machine learning, and multi-agent systems. Specifically, he is interested in exploring how large language models (LLMs) can communicate and collaborate to solve complex tasks together, and how they can be trained to specialize in different domains for a division of labour.
