Maya Aaram is the Research Partnerships Manager in the Math Innovation Office. She has formerly worked at University of Guelph, as an industry liaison officer, and also as a graduate manager.
Maya's curiosity in science and engineering took her to molecular physics, particle physics, computational biophysics, machine learning and drug discovery and the biotech industry. Her journey continues in this role, and she takes joy and pride in assisting researchers take on exciting projects, from ideation to completion. In previous chapters of her career, she has initiated and enabled numerous successful academic/industrial collaborations and partnerships, as either a stakeholder or an administrator. She brings that experience to this role and endeavors to further it, one connection at a time!
At home, she is a mother to two felines, one canine and one homo sapien. When parental duties allow, she enjoys spending time on making things: cooking, fermenting, baking, furniture building in her woodshop, sewing, or writing a script/configuration to automate/improve processes.
