Meet the donors, students and faculty who are supporting M4
The Waterloo Math community is buzzing about M4 and the learning, research and collaboration it will enable.
Here’s what Mathies are saying about this exciting project.
Donors
As someone who studied in the Faculty of Mathematics when there was only one building, I see M4 as a significant step forward. The Russell Hiscock Statistics and Actuarial Science Lab will create a stronger learning environment and better support graduate students in these disciplines.
As a computer science graduate of the University of Waterloo, I benefited greatly from the interplay of mathematics and computer science within the Faculty. With the addition of M4, this cross-disciplinary interaction will be strengthened even further. We’re proud to be part of bringing this vision to life.
Students
I’m looking forward to M4 because of the community and student spaces it will bring. Spaces like this help people feel connected and strengthen student life across the Faculty. I think it will make a real difference in how students engage with each other.
Faculty and staff
Incredible developments are occurring at the intersection of computer science, statistics and mathematics. Mathematics 4 will bolster our strength in these areas and accelerate world-changing research and education.
