Biographical sketch: Daniel Bergey (1815-1894), the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Cassel) Bergey, was born in Franconia Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. In 1838, he married Mary (1817-1899), daughter of Isaac and Barbara (Yoder) Sauder. In 1855 they with their family of four children moved to Canada and settled in Berlin (Kitchener), Ontario. Their fifth child was born in Canada. Daniel's profession is listed as bricklayer or mason in census records. 

Custodial history: Leaves are from a Bible donated to the Archives in 2026 by Elizabeth Chenier. The Archives removed the family record and title pages and did not keep the Bible. 

Scope and content: Marriage record of Daniel and Mary Bergey and names and birthdates of their children as recorded in the pages of a family Bible. 

Notes: Family name is alternately spelled "Bergey" and "Berge" in the record.
