Biographical sketch: Johanna Fehderau (June 14, 1925- ) was born in Berdjansk, Ukraine to Johann Fehderau (Mar. 6, 1901-Aug. 5, 1938) and Olga Martens (Jan. 12, 1902-Nov. 19, 1946). She married Karl Jenn (June 1, 1925-); they had five children.
The Fehderau family moved to the North Caucasus in 1930 where Johann Fehderau worked in the fields of a German-Russian work camp. He got into legal difficulties and the family attempted to flee to Alma Ata. However Johann Fehderau was arrested and died in 1938. The rest of the family moved frequently in the next number of years, ending up in Kazakhstan until 1992 when the family moved to Germany.
Custodial history: Prepared by Johanna Jenn; photocopied and provided to the Mennonite Archives of Ontario in January 1999 by Leonard Freeman in the course of his research on Henry Wieler.
Scope and content: The fonds consists of a photocopy of an autobiographical narrative (in German) by Johanna Jenn, together with drawings that illustrate her experiences.
