Administrative History: In 1980, Frank H. Epp secured funding from the Multicultural History Society of Ontario and the Mennonite Historical Society of Ontario for an oral history project focusing on Conservative, Old Order and Orthodox Mennonites in Ontario and their encounters with the state and society. Carolyn Musselman and Karey Musselman worked on this project through the summer of 1980.
Custodial history: These records were originally filed in the Mennonites in Canada collection, under the file name "1980 - Conservative Mennonite Church." In 2010, they were transferred to Hist.Mss.22.14.
Scope and Content: The file includes correspondence and the funding proposal, as well as research notes and a bibliography by Carolyn and Karey Musselman on the Canada Pension Plan, cemeteries, immigration problems, insurance issues, jury duty, the milk can issue, the school issue, and the social insurance number issue. Written reports for eight non-taped interviews are included. No taped interviews are part of this file.
The written reports summarize interviews with Bishop Edward Bauman, David Luthy, Amsey Martin, Elmo Stoll, Jesse Bowman, Dan Kraemer, Noah Martin, and Enoch Bauman.
