Title: Jacob and Maria (Weber) Brubacher family fonds
Dates of creation: 1840
Physical description: 1 cm of textual records
Biographical sketch: Jacob S. Brubacher (1818-1896) and Maria (Mary) Weber (1815-1888) were married in Waterloo County in 1840.They lived on a farm near Bridgeport for four years, then moved to a farm three miles west of Kitchener (part of lot 35). The couple had four children.
Custodial history: A photocopy of the marriage certificate was given to the Archives from the Archives of the Mennonite Church (Goshen, Ind.). Later, in 2015, the Archives of the Mennonite Church transferred the original certificate, along with the other original materials in this fonds, to the Mennonite Archives of Ontario. The fonds was originally received by the Archives of the Mennonite Church from the estate of "Moses Brubacher" in 1948. This is probably Bishop Moses M. Brubacher of St. Jacobs, a grandson of Jacob and Maria Brubacher.
Scope and content: Notice of marriage for Jacob and Maria Brubacher, school records, copybooks, some miscellaneous writings, and a tax assessment.
Notes: For photographs related to this family search the Mennonite Archival Image Database.

Original archival description created 2013 by Laureen Harder-Gissing and updated in 2016.
