Title: Moses C. Bowman family fonds

Biographical sketch: Moses C. Bowman (1855-1933) was a Mennonite preacher at the Mannheim Mennonite Church. His ancestor Wendel Bauman (1681?-1735) was the first of the family line to emigrate from Switzerland to Pennsylvania. Moses C. was an uncle to Isaiah Bowman, a geographer, born in 1878 in the Waterloo region. Isaiah's father Samuel took the family to Michigan when Isaiah was 8 weeks old.
Scope and content: The fonds consists of a computer printout of the descendants of Moses C. Bowman, notes and a pedigree chart on Wendel Bauman by Keith Higgins, and a Life magazine article (22 Oct 1945) profiling Isaiah Bowman.
