We collect, preserve and provide access to archival materials reflecting the religious, cultural, organizational, congregational, family and personal lives of Mennonites with roots and branches in Ontario. The Archives is cared for by Conrad Grebel University College on behalf of the Mennonite constituency. We are located within the Milton Good Library, with its complementary collections and services.
Hours for Archives research and Rare Books/Periodicals access: 9:00 am-4:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Exceptions to our regular hours are posted on the Milton Good Library website; please check before you visit. An appointment in advance is recommended for archival materials. Rare books can be accessed upon request at the library desk.
Resources for genealogical research. Due to limited staff time, the Mennonite Archives of Ontario cannot carry out detailed research on behalf of patrons. We will attempt to answer a question if it can be done in about 15 minutes. Otherwise we ask you to make a personal visit for research. Consult our genealogy research guide for more information.
Note to researchers seeking documents to verify Canadian citizenship under Bill C-3 ("Lost Canadians"). Due to overwhelming numbers, we are not able to respond to these requests at this time. We are focusing our efforts instead on digitizing early to mid-19th century records of Mennonite clergy and congregations in Ontario. These records will be posted on this website as they become available over the next few months. We appreciate your patience as we undertake this project.
