Series 4: Maria Braun Case File, 1946-1948
Album of correspondence primarily concerning Maria Braun (1885-1973), and her brother Johanna A. (John) Braun's application to bring her to Waterloo, Ontario from the Netherlands. Johann and Maria were both born in Gnadenfeld, Molotschna, south Russia. Johann immigrated to Canada in 1925; in 1946 Maria was living temporarily in the Netherlands. Correspondence also includes sponsorship correspondence for a number of other Mennonite refugee women from the Soviet Union.
