Title: Abraham M. Martin fonds

Biographical sketch: Abraham M. Martin (25 January 1938- 25 November 2001) was a David Martin Mennonite who was disciplined by this small group that divided from the Old Order Mennonites prior to 1920 for his independent theological views. He published a book, Especially for Mennonites : a message of love in 2001. It appeared about one month after his sudden death.
Abraham M. Martin was the fifth child of Rebecca and Abraham W. Martin. He married Leah Bowman on 17 March 1959. They had two children.
Custodial history: Donated to the Mennonite Archives of Ontario by Donald Martin in early 2003
Scope and content: The fonds consists of photocopies of handwritten correspondence and reflections shared with Donald Martin, the Markham Waterloo Mennonite Conference historian. Much of it appeared later in his book. It contains particular value in illuminating some of the issues within this small group in the 1990s.
