Title: Christian and Daniel Schrag family fonds

Biographical sketch: Daniel Schrag (April 1813-Nov. 1, 1891) was born in Bavaria. His first wife was Elizabeth Güngerich (July 27, 1825- Nov. 26, 1854). There were six children to this union. On June 24, 1849 Daniel Schrag was ordained as a minister for the East Zorra Amish Mennonite Church. On June 3, 1855 he married Magdalena Steinman (October 1825-Sept. 8, 1878). Nine children were born to the couple.

Christian Schrag (Jan. 30, 1843-Feb. 1, 1901) was the second son of Daniel and Elizabeth Schrag. He died in New York state, but is buried on the 19th Concession of East Zorra. He married Veronica Kennel (August 25, 1845-May 22, 1914). Christian was a farmer and a cheesemaker. Christian and Veronica had four children, including Christian Schrag (1876-1939), who became a Mennonite minister.
