Title: David Schwartzentruber fonds

Biographical Sketch: David Schwartzentruber (24 Oct. 1897-11 Dec. 1982) was the son of John and Barbara Brenneman Schwartzentruber. On Sept. 4, 1928 he married Barbara Streicher; they had four children. He was ordained as a deacon in 1934 and minister in 1940 in the Ontario Amish Mennonite Conference. In 1947 he served for Mennonite Central Committee in Poland.
Custodial history: Donated by his children, Harold, Glenn and Earl Schwartzentruber and Betty Bearinger to the Mennonite Archives of Ontario on 28 August 2000.
Scope and content: The fonds consists of two notebooks which were his diary of this experience from Feb. 27, 1947-Sept. 12, 1947.
