Biographical sketch: Johannes Gascho (21 February 1830-13 December 1909) was born in Pennsylvania, the son of Christian Gascho and Christina Petersheim. On 21 September 1852 he married Barbara Erb from Waterloo County; they had eleven children. After her death he married another Barbara Erb. Gascho was ordained as a deacon in the Amish Mennonite Church in Wilmot Township in 1854, and as a bishop in 1872.
Custodial history: Donated to the Mennonite Archives of Ontario via Lorraine Roth.
Scope and context: The fonds consists of folded sheet showing a lot plan as divided by John Erb, Sr. between his son John Erb and son-in-law, John Gascho.
