Physical description: 2 pages of textual records; 1 pair of silk stockings
Biographical sketch: Peter Erb, the second son of Peter and Anna (Schäaeffer) Erb, was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, 13 Jan 1787. On 14 Dec 1806, he was married to Susannah Bomberger (1787-1867). In 1807 they, with others, moved to Canada and settled in what is now Waterloo County, Ontario. They located on the west bank of the Grand River, about two miles north of Bridgeport. The couple had 11 children.
Custodial history: The stockings were passed down the family line. After Lorna Bergey's death, the family presented the stockings to the Archives in 2011.
Scope and content: The fonds consists of two long silk stockings worn by Peter Erb when he married Susannah Bomberger in 1806. Two pages of information about the provenance are also included.
