Title: Reuben Steinman fonds

Biographical sketch: Reuben Steinman (1919-2017) was the son of Abraham Steinmann and Mary (Roth) Steinmann. The family lived in the New Hamburg area. From August-December 1941, he was part of the third group of conscientious objectors to serve at the Montreal River Alternative Service camp, north of Sault Ste Marie. He was a member of Steinmann Mennonite Church. 

Custodial history: Donated to the Archives in 2020 by Ervin Steinman

Scope and content: Items related to Reuben Steinman's time at Montreal River: notice of call to alternative service from the Department of National War Services, a colourized photograph of the camp, an autograph album, and a handmade wall calendar for 1942.
