Title: Volunteering for Service interview project [sound recording]

Administrative History: Roughly between the years 1989 and 1995, interviews on volunteering were conducted by Calvin Redekop ("C"), Henry Regehr ("H"), Marc Gelinas ("M") and Victor Krahn ("V").

Custodial History: The tapes were donated to the Mennonite Archives of Ontario by Calvin Redekop sometime after 1995.

Scope and Content: The project interviewed Mennonites living in the vicinity of Kitchener, Ontario. The sample was selected by assigning every Mennonite congregation in the reigion its number of interviewees based proportionaly on its church membership. The interviewers asked for demographic information, the extent and nature of the individual's volunteer activities, their motives for pro-social behavior and volunteering, and their feelings about their volunteer experience. Some of the interviews are missing, and for several the interviewees have not been identified. Project documentation can be found at Hist.Mss.87 - Redekop, Calvin Wall.
