Rev. Ananda began his life journey through diverse professional, academic, and entrepreneurial paths before embracing a life of spiritual dedication. Trained in chemical and process engineering, his career spanned multinational corporate leadership, academic lecturing, and non-profit development across multiple countries.
Eight years ago, he renounced lay life to follow the path of a Buddhist monk, undertaking deep study and practice in Buddhist meditation and philosophy under both Sri Lankan and international teachers, while also exploring Vedic and Yogic traditions, including formal training as a certified Yoga Teacher (RYT-500) and sound healing modalities.
Since his ordination, Rev Ananda has been sharing Meditation & Buddhist teachings internationally in both English and Sinhala, and currently serves as resident monk & spiritual director at Lake Monastery in Cambridge, Buddhist chaplain at the University of Waterloo and a steering committee member of Interfaith Grand River.
He warmly welcomes students of all backgrounds, beliefs, and traditions to find the wisdom and stillness within.
