Spring has sprung! Good-bye winter cabin fever!

Along with the the sun and warm weather comes some new teammates in the NiMBaL group! Phillip Drygala and Ciara Dunne join our lab as research assistants working on the ONDRI Health in Aging, Neurodegenerative Diseases and Dementias in Ontario project (HANDDS-ONT) .

My name is Phil Drygala, I recently graduated from the University of Waterloo with a BSc in Kinesiology in the cooperative education program. My role in the NiMBaL lab is largely within the HANDDS-ONT project where I am assisting with the management of wearable biosensors and organization of data. Along with sensor and data management my main role is to meet 1:1 with participants to provide a feedback forms and discuss the results from the week long wearable sensor data collection. Outside of the lab, I love getting active in any way possible, but preferably by playing baseball. Go Jays go!

My name is Ciara Dunne, I recently graduated from the University of Waterloo in 2021 with a BSc in Kinesiology. My role in the NiMBaL lab revolves around the remote HANDDS-ONT project where I am assisting with the management of wearable biosensors and organization of data. While in this role I hope to learn more about the research process and the application of new technology in the world of neurodegenerative diseases. This year I plan to start my Masters of Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa where I am diving into the world of sport psychology and improving mental performance in people, athletes, and performers.
