Three eminent women, including an award-winning journalist who has written on the struggle for women's rights, a top scientist who works to raise the profile of women in science, engineering and technology, and a Waterloo alumna recognized for outstanding contributions to the profession of statistics, are among those receiving honorary doctorates at the University of Waterloo's upcoming spring convocation ceremonies. This is Tom Jenkins' first convocation as chancellor.
A Waterloo graduate student with a rich family history in the Canadian military is among the first to receive an historic scholarship that honours Canada’s role in the liberation of the Netherlands in the Second World War.
Heather Whiteside is a University of Waterloo history student who was selected to take part in the Canadian Battlefields Foundation academic study tour of Europe in early May. This year’s study tour coincided with the 70th Anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands at the end of the Second World War.
The University of Waterloo received a federal grant announced today to develop a training program that will help drive innovation in areas as diverse as automotive, aerospace, energy, manufacturing and healthcare.
