How Miovision is moving us closer to ending road rage

When people started putting mannequins in the backs of their cars to try and sneak onto HOV lanes during the Pan Am Games in Toronto, it was an extreme example of how desperate we can become when faced with major traffic congestion. It was also proof that Miovision’s potential solution to transportation management couldn’t come at a better time.

The founder and chief executive officer of Shopify, one of the hottest software companies on the Canadian tech scene, had gone to California seeking venture capital funding to expand his company.

Shopify founder to speak at University of Waterloo

Shopify Founder and CEO Tobias Lütke, will visit the University of Waterloo on October 1, marking his first-ever appearance at a Canadian university.

Lütke will speak to a group of Waterloo’s math and engineering students in a fireside chat, where he will offer insights on what drives innovation ecosystems. He will also reveal his startup story, sharing how he became the visionary leader behind one of Canada’s tech giants.

At many institutions, IP rights are closely tied to corporate donations. Other universities view them as income.
