Assistant Professor
Dr. Abiola Olaitan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Waterloo. He completed his PhD in infectious diseases from Aix-Marseille University in France in 2015.
Dr. Olaitan seeks to understand the molecular mechanisms modulating the pathogenesis of Clostridioides difficile, including its defense against host-generated chemical stresses and the emergence of antibiotic resistance, to understand how these have shaped the bacterial physiology, pathogenesis, and disease severity.
