Office-based Laser and Minor Surgical Procedures for Optometrists

(Formerly known as our Advanced Procedures Certificate Course)

Enhance your knowledge and skills in laser procedures commonly used to treat anterior segment disease and minor surgical procedures commonly used for eyelid lesions. The didactic program is split into two parts, Part I (6 hours of asynchronous modules) and Part II (18 hours of synchronous live lectures) take place virtually, and Part III (12 hours hands-on workshops) will take place in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. See program details (below) for more information. Faculty for this course administration include expert licensed practitioners Drs. Richard Castillo and Sophia Leung, optometrists trained in these procedures and a licensed family physician.

Those who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate in minor surgical procedures and anterior segment laser procedures plus 36 hours of COPE* CE credits (refer to your practicing jurisdiction as to whether the skills taught in this course fall under your optometric scope of practice).
